    Kissing Scully is no chore

David Duchovny has apparently said that having to kiss co-star Gillian Anderson in The X-Files was not a difficult job.

Speaking to FHM about his on-screen persona Mulder kissing Gillian’s character Scully he apparently said they had kissed many times over the years.

“It’s been many years of kissing and it’s not been a chore at all, at least not for Mulder. I guess you should ask Scully,” David is reported to have said.

The two characters are being rekindled for a feature film called The X-Files: I Want To Believe. It is the sequel to the first X-Files movie made ten years ago.

David reportedly added that he hoped there would be further opportunities for him to hunt the supernatural as Mulder.

“I thought it would be fulfilling to be able to come back to this character every five years at different stages of his life and track him. I’d love to follow Mulder as he got older and older. We hope this becomes a film franchise,” he is reported to have said.

    Gold Derby Emmy Predictions

From Tom O’Neil of Gold Derby:

So far I have seven of the 10 chaps on the Emmys’ list of top 10 best comedy actors. Later today I’ll have solved the mystery of the lost boys. Meantime, let’s have some fun: Do you want to guess?

Here’s who I have confirmed — see below. Also, I happen to know that longtime Emmy fave Kelsey Grammer (”Back to You”) is not on the list for best comedy actor.

7 OF EMMY’S TOP 10: BEST LEAD COMEDY ACTOR
Alec Baldwin, “30 Rock” (”Rosemary’s Baby”)
Steve Carell, “The Office” (”Goodbye, Toby”)
Larry David, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (”The Bat Mitzvah”)
David Duchovny, “Californication” (”The Last Waltz”)
    Lee Pace, “Pushing Daisies” (”Pie-lette”)
Tony Shalhoub, “Monk” (”Mr. Monk and the Naked Man”)
Charlie Sheen, “Two and a Half Men” (”Is There a Mrs. Waffles?”)

    IMPOSSIBLE
Kelsey Grammer, “Back to You” (”Pilot”)

    POSSIBLE
    Zach Braff, “Scrubs” (”My Princess”)
Jermaine Clement, “Flight of the Conchords” (”Sally Returns”)
    Kevin Connolly, “Entourage” (”Malibooty”)
Johnny Galecki, “The Big Bang Theory” (”The Hamburger Postulate”)
Brad Garrett, “‘Til Death” (”Swimming with Starks”)
    Adrian Grenier, “Entourage” (”Adios Amigos”)
Jason Lee, “My Name Is Earl” (”Bad Earl”)
Bret McKenzie, “Flight of the Conchords” (”Girlfriends”)
Jim Parsons, “Big Bang Theory” (”The Pancake Batter Anomaly”)
Josh Radnor, “How I Met Your Mother” (”Ten Sessions”)

The Emmy nominations will be announced July 18th.

Prepare To Believe Again With ‘The X-Files: Revelations’

The truth will be out there… Fox Home Entertainment presents an exclusive insider’s pass to the science-fiction television phenomenon just in time for its second trip to the big screen when “The X-Files” Revelations descends onto a two-disc DVD collection July 8th.

Selected by eight-time Emmy® Award nominated series creator Chris Carter himself, all eight full hour episodes in the compilation include special on-camera introductions by Carter and producer Frank Spotnitz, revealing why each were chosen and how they relate to the highly anticipated feature film, invading theaters on July 25th. Also featured on the set is the February 2008 WonderCon panel session with Carter and Spotnitz, as well as series stars David Duchovny (Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Scully), making their first fan convention appearance together in several years and taking questions from rabid “X-Philes,” in an interview spanning over 38 minutes.

A Conversation with David Duchovny and Gillin Anderson

The Ghostbusters may have been the go-to guys for spookhunting in the ‘80s, but if weird shit was going down in your neighbourhood during the ‘90s, there was only one number to call: that connecting you to a basement office in the J. Edgar Hoover Building, Washington, DC. From there, FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully pursued cases with a paranormal tinge, encountering everything from ghouls to killer cockroaches in their quest for ‘the truth’.

Guided by the hand of creator Chris Carter, The X-Files fused lurid horror and sci-fi plotlines with detailed procedural, making even its most outré events seem credible. The approach paid huge dividends, turning the Fox TV series first into a cult smash, then a mainstream phenomenon. But would it have been half the hit it was without its lead duo, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson? Doubtful.

Individually, they’re charming – Duchovny laidback and appealingly goofy; Anderson smouldering and smart. But together they’re dynamite, especially within the dynamic established by The X-Files, casting the former as a boyishly enthusiastic believer in the supernatural and the latter as his ever-sceptical foil. Would they manage to stop a government conspiracy to hand over Earth to aliens? And, more importantly, would they end up as an item?
